It’s almost 2018 and whilst this blog is not exactly about New Year’s resolutions, it is about looking at what you can change in your life that would make you happier.
Some of my clients have come to me in despair thinking they will never be able to change certain ways of thinking or feeling.
I am not a fairy godmother and definitely do not have a wand or magical powers, however, I have worked with many clients and have been able to help them live the life they wish to.
Say for instance you would like to change your job or career, who could help you tackle this? Sometimes it seems difficult to know where to even start looking. You may not actually know what you want to do, but are certain that you don’t want to continue doing your current job. Have a think about which organisations you may like to work for. Follow them on twitter or check out their website to see if they have a blog, or information of what it may be like to work for them. Contact them to see if they have open days or what their recruitment practice is.
Ask around your friends and family, who do they work for? What’s good about it (or not)? Start to broaden your horizons. Could you offer to volunteer one day a week or at weekends or evenings to get a taster in a new career? It doesn’t have to be a charity for you to volunteer. I suppose the other terminology could be called Work Experience.
Maybe there are other areas in your life that you would like to be able to see a potential change. Perhaps you notice that you over think things and by doing this it stops you from trying out new things. Or possibly you are holding onto guilt or shame from a past experience, or feelings from a broken relationship of your own, or when your parents separated. You may notice that you feel guilty when you don’t want to visit relatives or find that when you are in your parents company you feel young and walked over.
Perhaps it feels there are too many things, or that you know that you would like to change something in your life but you can’t put your finger on what the issue is? Have a look at my testimonials page, it doesn’t exactly list what my clients came to see me for but you can get a taste of the outcome.
The most important thing to remember, is that it is ok for you to live your life how you want to, without the burden of regret or feeling that your needs are never met or heard.
All of these issues are able to be looked into and worked through to enable You to feel ok with you.
Sometimes even the hardest tasks may seem impossible and I am sure if you were to ask some of my clients they would say that they never imagined to get to where they did (and beyond where they expected or hoped for) but they did. And that could be You too.
So why not give yourself the opportunity for this new year to be about You and what could be good for you?
I do offer a free introductory session, or having made the decision to contact me, you may rather have a full 50 minute session.
Why not contact me and lets get you started on living the life that you would like to live.
I am based in West Sussex and, for ease, my private practice has off-road parking.
Sometimes we may have a list of things to change but by changing one has a positive impact on the others!
